Advanced Planning in Produktion and Logistics

Content

Steadily growing customer requirements, such as the need for short delivery times with high quality and individual customer requirements despite mass production, present manufacturing companies with ever more complex planning problems. In order to meet these wishes and yet generate the optimum in added value, companies are forced to continuously improve their internal processes. The high complexity of and dependencies between individual planning processes of a company are major challenges. In order to meet these challenges, Advanced Planning and Scheduling systems (APSs) are increasingly being used to control corporate processes.

Educational objectives

The aim of the lecture is the communication of current and practical issues in the field of "Advanced Planning and Scheduling". One focus is on mathematical models of the various planning levels and the coordination of hierarchically structured planning processes through communication between the planning levels. The students should be able to handle complex planning problems based on hierarchical planning processes and to analyze practical planning problems on a scientific and management level.
